There are plenty of charities regarding autism and plenty have crept into SL, such as the austism society and at one time autism speaks. So when Mariposa Upshaw chose to do this project four years ago, she met up with two people in Secondlife.
One was The Sojourner, whose real name was Karen Ganz. She started Dreams/Shockproof/Bridagoon Explorers etc. Dreams still exists today. She left the running of it in her Will. At her memorial Pathfinder Linden (now Lester) was a key speaker. So they met up and decided to do something to support autism here in SL. That is when they created the Autism Experience Auction.
The first Autism Experience auction was held at Angel Dorei Museum in 2008; the second at Angel Dorei and the Museum of SL Photography in 2009; the third at MoSLP in 2010; this year it will be held at Ventura Arte & Jardin on the sim of Universe. Over the last 3 years thru the auction and events associated with it, over 740,000L has been raised for Virtual Abilities and Dreams. This has only been possible thru the generousity and compassion of the artists and musicians who have worked with them for this cause, sharing their creativity to help change the world.

We help our new members integrate into SL society and provide information, encouragement, training, companionship, referrals to other SL resources and groups, ways to contribute back to the community, and ways to have fun.

Brigadoon Explorers:
A supportive group for residents with AS (Asperger's syndrome) and autism; a subgroup of the Multi-pronged Dreams -
Dreams:
The Dream Travelers are the stabilizing force behind the multi-pronged Dreams. Established to support ShockProof, a group of stroke survivors, the Travelers are a cohesive group of people who teach, share, laugh and play. They are here to not only support others' dreams but to further their own. In addition, the Brigadoon Explorers, individuals interested in Asperger Syndrome, are a part of Dreams and the Dream Travelers.

Musical events throughout April. Please contact Mariposa Upshaw if you would like to donate an hour of your time - scheduling will be for dates in April, generally Sundays.
DONATIONS: sculpture, sl photography, 2d art.
the donated works must be able to be transferred to the highest bidders at the auction; you may work to the theme of autism, thinking in pictures, acceptance, the beauty of individuality and diversity or anything you chose - the goal is to achieve great bids to the cause for each piece donated.
